The mission of the St. Mark’s Episcopal School Choral Department is to strive for excellence, self-discipline, and pride. Our commitment is to help further the students’ education and musical development as contributing members of the community.
The Choral program is comprised of the following ensembles:
- Chamber Choir – auditioned middle school choir
- Singing Lions Chorus – grades 7-8
- Chorus – grades 5-6
- Cub Choir -grades 1-4
- Tonal Eclipse Show Choir – grades 5-8
Our performance ensembles provide students with experience in quality vocal production techniques and part-singing, as well as an emphasis on quality choral literature from a variety of periods and styles, and the development of fundamental beginner to advanced skills in vocal tone production, choral performance techniques, musical literacy, and music appreciation. Our students are involved in Florida All-State Honor Choirs, the Florida Vocal Association’s Music Performance Assessment Festivals and more.
The Chamber Choir performs throughout the community at venues including, but not limited to SMES football and basketball games, nursing homes, children’s hospitals, and the Christmas on Las Olas festival.
Come cheer on the Chamber Choir as we sing the National Anthem at the NHL Florida Panther’s Game on Friday, December 1, 2017!
