Class of 2018 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Our congratulations go out to the entire class of 2018.  We are incredibly proud of our graduates and know they will go on to be successful in their high school careers.  We also want to extend our congratulations to this year’s Valedictorian and Salutatorian.

Our 2018 Valedictorian, Olivia Christie, was the Secretary of the National Junior Honor Society, a Duke Talent recipient and the recipient of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence.  Olivia has made the Head of School’s list every quarter throughout Middle School, earning the Scholastic Achievement Award each year. She was on the cross country team and part of the flutelettes (flute choir). She was an active member of the Recycle/Green Club, placed second place in St. Mark’s A Division of the Math Competition.  Olivia will be attending St. Thomas Aquinas High School on a partial scholarship.  She scored in the top 10% on the High School Placement Test and has been inducted into the Veritas Merit Scholars Program at St. Thomas. Congratulations, Olivia!

This year’s Salutatorian was Sofia Castro. Sofia has achieved the Head of School’s list every quarter throughout Middle School earning the Scholastic Achievement Award each year. She was a Student Ambassador and President of the National Junior Honor Society. She was the recipient of the President’s Education Award and received the Amanda Richter Ubben Award in seventh grade. She earned second place in the 2018 Science Fair. She was part of the Advanced Band and Chamber Choir and she had roles in the musical The Little Mermaid and Mary Poppins. Sofia will also be attending St. Thomas Aquinas High School this fall. Congratulations Sofia!
