A Message from Dr. Rotella

September 25, 2017

Dear St. Mark’s Families,

A special thank you is extended to all of our families for your generous and kind donations to the St. Mark’s Hurricane Collection and to Mrs. Calla Scully for spearheading a school-wide donation drive of clothing and food for the families affected by Hurricane Irma in the Florida Keys. As much as we try to get back to our normal routines at school and work, it is heart wrenching as we continue to see more devastation happening in Mexico and Puerto Rico. Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers.

It was nice to see so many of you at Family Fun Night at California Pizza Kitchen and the great turn out for our Back-to-School Picnic. A special thank you is extended to the Parent Association and to the committee members who worked on both of these events.

Episcopal School Sunday was celebrated this past Sunday at the 10:00 a.m. service. St. Mark’s students, faculty and administration come together each year to celebrate Episcopal education and worship together with our fellow church parishioners. The St. Mark’s band and chorus were outstanding.

Additionally, our teachers engaged in their first Professional Development Day this past week. The Academic Committee met to discuss goals and share ideas and the Language Arts committee met to gather feedback on the new 90-minute block.

Our athletic teams are going strong with both football and volleyball teams defeating Somerset Key and Weston Christian.

This week, I look forward to visiting classrooms to observe students and teachers participating in some exciting and engaging lessons. Thank you for your support and encouragement as we continue to enjoy each day with your child.

Warm regards,
Kitty Rotella, Ed.D
