Class of 2014 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

St. Mark’s salutes two outstanding young ladies as Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the class of 2014 who have had an incredible impact on St. Mark’s. This year’s valedictorian, Zahra Shivji, has excelled in many areas. She has made the Head of School’s list every quarter while in middle school. Zahra was the Treasurer of the National Junior Honor Society. She received First Place in this year’s Science Fair and received the Science Achievement Award. She’s a very talented artist and received the Art Achievement Award. She also received the English Award and The President’s Education Award and participated in the Math Competition at St. Thomas Aquinas. She is a Duke Talent recipient and a Student Ambassador. Zahra was awarded the Most Valuable Player on the volleyball team and Most Improved on the basketball team and played varsity softball. Most importantly, she was named this year’s Female Athlete of the Year and was voted Most Likely to Succeed by her eight grade peers. Zahra will be attending St. Thomas Aquinas in the fall where she is enrolled in honors classes.

The Salutatorian of the class of 2014, Kalliope (Kally) Adams, has been a student at St. Mark’s since third grade. She’s made the Head of School’s list every quarter while in middle school. She was the Secretary of the National Junior Honor Society. Kally is a very talented musician and received the Band Director’s Award. She was a Duke Talent recipient and a Student Ambassador. She received the Coaches Award for basketball and the Most Improved Player for Softball. Kally was also awarded the prestigious National Association of Episcopal School Award, based on academic and leadership qualities. Kally will be attending Cardinal Gibbons in the fall and will also be enrolled in honors classes. Congratulations to both Zahra and Kally for their many achievements!
